This week we are PUMPED to share some Wisdom Wednesday from a Wahoo!
26-year-old University of Virginia Alum, Denny McCarthy, is like a lot of guys his age.
He enjoys being outdoors, relaxing on the beach, playing a lot of golf, and rooting for his National Championship Cavaliers (1). What distinguishes him from the rest is: Denny has played on the PGA Tour.
After a phenomenal college career as a 3X All American. Denny went on to win the Web.Com Tour Championship, join the PGA Tour, and sign a deal with Nike Golf.
Today, the young and talented rising PGA star was kind enough to share some Wisdom with us.
1. What is one piece of advice you would give yourself 10 years ago?
"Never take any opportunity for granted"
2. If you could go 10 years into the future and ask yourself one question, what would it be?
"Am I doing everything to be the best I can be?" 3. What age did you start playing golf? "Since I could walk, competitively probably 7 or 8" 4. Was there any specific moment you realized you were better at golf than most people? "Always knew at a young age I was good at what I did, but when I got to high school is when I realized I could take myself to the top level" 5. Pre-Tournament Routine? "Pre-round I’ll eat, do a little workout to get my body going a few hours before, and then warm up for my round" 6. How does it feel to be a UVA Alumni this week after the big win?! " Feels amazing to be a part of the UVA family, really proud of the way we bounced back from last year, and even better that I was there to witness them become National Champs!"
